Changing Lives-Mike Rollins
Earlier this year, Karmen Vance in our corporate office received a call from Mike Rollins, a veteran in Valdosta, Georgia. He was interested in buying a tub to ease his pain and to give him and his wife some much needed independence. He was injured in a mortar attack in Iraq in 2003, is legally blind and suffers from TBI, PTSD, and severe gate loss and has to wear compression bandages which includes gloves, sleeves, and stockings. He also must wear metal braces on his legs to assist with standing, walking, and balance and, at times, must use a wheelchair. Mike has been unable to bathe or shower by himself without assistance since returning home after being injured 13 years ago. His wife Peggy is his sole caretaker.
